6.26.18 Education on the Ballot: Fighting for Michigan’s Future
For over a decade, Michigan’s student achievement scores have plummeted. Currently, Michigan fourth graders rank 41st nationwide in reading performance, and we are one of only three states that has seen a decline in performance since 2003. Michigan’s schools are funded through a “one size fits all” model that has failed students and seriously jeopardizes the State’s economic future.
On Tuesday June 26, PWA will host a panel discussing the most pressing educational issues facing Michigan today. We will explore policies that could stop Michigan’s educational decline and consider how we as voters can fight for students across the state this November.
